FACTS

SBA 8(a) Advantages

No $$ Ceiling Limit – CFR 124.506(b)/FAR 19.805-1(b)
ANC-owned 8(a) companies can be awarded sole-source contracts with no competition and no competitive threshold dollar limitation on the contract amount. Limits that apply to other 8(a) companies do not apply to ANCs; however, a procurement may not be removed from planned competition to sole source it to an ANC-owned firm.

Non-Protestable 13 CFR 124.517(a)
Contracts awarded directly to an 8(a) ANC cannot be protested. The ability to fast track an important procurement is a huge benefit.

Rapid Procurement Process
The SBA ANC 8(a) contracting method avoids a long, expensive and complex procurement cycle and is significantly faster than any other means of contracting. Simply contact the ANC 8(a) company’s local SBA District Office to ask that the procurement be sole sourced under the 8(a) program.
